In the settings section under preferences, you can see a few default ones there, including the cool space one that started this all, along with a ‘+’ sign. I literally clicked on the images I liked, saved them to my downloads folder, and then went into Zoom. If you’re looking to add some conversation starters or different ways to connect or get to know something about those you work with, this is a pretty fun and easy way. It’s Friday, but I’m looking forward to what people find over the weekend when they start Zooming again on Monday. Just like for everyone, this time of physical distancing takes its toll at different points, and after hearing we have at least another 5 weeks of it in Illinois, I needed something to add a little fun and comradery. It took me less than a minute to download these and add them. As an avid tea drinker and Van Gogh fan, I also got a tea-themed background and an Irises background. I am sure there are many, many out there, but after clicking on one of the results to a Google search for “Zoom backgrounds,” I found myself on the Enterprise (TNG version) and in front of the Hall of Justice. In one of my Zoom meetings this week, someone had a cool space themed background, and I made a mental note to get myself some cool backgrounds. It’s not that I didn’t use it before, but now instead of being in a room with a bunch of my coworkers connected to another room or two also with multiple people, we’re all by ourselves in our homes. If you’re like me, you’ve gotten really familiar with Zoom over the past few weeks - perhaps because you now Work From Home ( WFH).
